Trade between the European Union and Canada
According to Eurostat, the EU identified Canada as its third largest destination and its fourth largest source of Foreign Direct Investment in 2007. The Canada-European Union joint economic study released in October 2008 shows that a comprehensive economic and trade agreement could increase two-way trade with Europe by $38 billion.
Why Toronto?
Being the undisputed business and manufacturing capital of Canada, the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is one of North America's fastest-growing economic regions. Having a GDP of U.S $109 billion, it is home to more than 100,000 companies, including many head offices.
High end venues, such as the Exhibition Place, Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre and the Mississauga International Centre boast 2,000,000 square feet of exhibit space, with more than 120 business trade shows and many more consumer shows being produced in the area each year, attracting millions of visitors.
In addition, Toronto is within a short driving distance to other expo supercentres such as Chicago, New York and Montreal, making Toronto the obvious choice for home base when exploring the North American market.
